In a letter to Jean-Baptiste Leroy in 1789, Benjamin Franklin wrote "Our new Constitution is now established, and has an appearance that promises permanency; but in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes." Regardless of the politics, the financial structure of society, the celebrities, or even religion, those two aspects remain assured. Death and taxes are the two constants that everyone can be confident will exist forever. There is little we can do about taxes except to pay them, However, while we can't escape death, planning for its inevitability and ensuring our love ones are taken care of afterwards is something we can do something about.
