Nevada State Prison provides casinos for inmates Gambling is such a huge industry in Nevada that even in a state prison it has existed for 35 years. Thus: inmates could play blackjack, craps, poker, and even bet on sporting events inside the Bullpen, a stone building on the Carson City prison grounds from 1932 to 1967. A new caretaker from California shut it down, saying: gambling was "degradation" for inmates.
